Jukebox submitted for review, ready for 3.0

15 Jun 2009

Swipe Interactive are proud to announce our first iPhone 3.0 app - Jukebox.

With Jukebox iPhone and iPod users can find out how well they know their music collection through an addictive, attractive music quiz where players must identify a song from just a random sound snippet. Players can challenge themselves to better their highest score by identifying songs as quickly as possible, and even test their knowledge of a particular artist’s work. With ‘World Rankings’ players can also compare their achievements against others to see how they rate as an artist’s biggest fan!

Jukebox’s sleek wood design and extensive collection of statistics and highscores, such as ‘longest streak’, ‘average score’ and ‘time played’, mean players will find themselves instantly addicted.

Jukebox, which we hope will be out for the launch of 3.0 on Wednesday, will have an introductory price of just $0.99. Jukebox takes advantage of the new capabilities of 3.0 to access the user’s iPod music library, and so consequently will only be available to 3.0 users.

Delays delays delays, bring on 3.0!

30 May 2009

Thank you for all your interest in our Beta programme - and apologies that we have not sent you your copies yet! Unfortunately we have to wait for some changes to our account with Apple, and this seems to be taking rather longer than expected.

There is, however, an upside to this. Instead of twiddling our thumbs over the last few weeks waiting for Apple to make the changes, we have had a chance to play with the 3.0 beta SDK, and now hope to get a 3.0 application out for the 3.0 release (whenever that may be!). Stay tuned for further details of the next (3.0!) application from Swipe Interactive!

Quick Draw - Best WiFi Multiplayer Games

30 Apr 2009

A few weeks ago we were happy to see Quick Draw has been noticed by the Apple team, and was consequently listed under their ‘Best Wi-Fi Multiplayer Games’ on the App Store Games front page. If you haven’t had a go with Quick Draw to see what all the fuss is about then take a look now.

Our next application, Pole2Pole, we’re sure will raise the bar even higher when it comes to Multiplayer gaming on the iPhone. Keep an eye out for it in the App Store soon, and see the teaser videos now at the Pole2Pole website.

Teaser Videos for Pole2Pole Online!

06 Apr 2009

We have recently released some teaser videos and screenshots for our latest game development, Pole2Pole.

Pole2Pole is an exciting, challenging game where players score points by locating cities, landmarks and other well known places as accurately as possible on an interactive high definition map, which players can zoom in and out of using the natural iPhone gestures.

Following our early success in multiplayer gaming on the iPhone, as seen with Quick Draw, Pole2Pole will feature several multiplayer options. These will include WiFi local network games, worldwide online games with several other people at once over both WiFi and mobile connections, as well as direct games with friends using Facebook Connect for iPhone.

We hope you enjoy the videos, and look out for further news from us soon! We expect to get Pole2Pole into the App Store in early May.

Quick Draw Lite Released

18 Feb 2009

Quick Draw Lite is now available to download in the App Store!

Quick Draw Lite allows the same functionality as the full version of Quick Draw, with just a couple of limitations. Firstly, there is a single category of words to replace the multiple categories such as ‘Animals’, ‘Landmarks’ and ‘Film’ available in the full version. Also, scores will not be submitted to the High Scores tables, although viewing of the scores is still allowed.

We hope people enjoy using Quick Draw Lite, and once you’ve learnt all the words off by heart, simply upgrade to the Full Version to get endless hours of extra play out of Quick Draw.

Quick Draw Lite

03 Feb 2009

We’re happy to announce that we have just submitted Quick Draw Lite to Apple and hope to have it on the App Store by the end of the week.

Quick Draw Lite has the same online multiplayer features which make Quick Draw unique, but has fewer categories and words available. We decided to create a Lite version to give people a taste of how much fun the game can be, before upgrading to get the full selection of categories and words.

We look forward to playing you all online soon!

SwipeInteractive.com online!

20 Jan 2009

Welcome to Swipe Interactive’s brand new website! Over the last couple of months, during the small amount of spare time we’ve had during our ongoing iPhone game developments, we’ve been designing this site so that we can share our thoughts and findings in iPhone development with you.

So, what have we been up to over the last few months? Well, as many of you know, in November last year we released Quick Draw, one of the first truly multiplayer games available for the iPhone and iPod Touch platforms which makes the most of the mobile and wireless connectivity we all share. There was a lot of hype about Quick Draw, with some highly respected blogs showing excited interest pre-release. After a few successful months in the App Store, reaching Top 10 lists for Word Game Apps, Quick draw is still fighting strong, although being slightly swamped by the sheer number of applications which are flooding the App Store.

Ever since Quick Draw’s release we have been working on the next big Application from Swipe Interactive. We will post more information on our next App soon, as it is still in the development stages, but I can say that it will be as exciting as Quick Draw, and will certainly be even more popular.

So, why have we decided to make our thoughts and ideas available to you by means of this blog? Well, as I’m sure you’re aware, there are over 15,000 applications in the App Store now, which means there must be tens of thousands of Developers out there. Many of these developers will know what they’re doing with regards to iPhone development now, and for whom we hope we can provide some extra hints and advice; there will be many others, however, who are in the same situation as we were in less than 6 months ago, and to whom we would like to give help and inspiration to through means of this blog. So whether you’re a seasoned developer or an Objective C newbie please check back soon, as we’ll soon be sharing the processes we’re going through in our development, and even offering up free code snippets when we discover something of potential use in others’ applications.

Thanks for reading, we hope you’ll be back soon!
