SwipeInteractive.com online!

20 Jan 2009

Welcome to Swipe Interactive’s brand new website! Over the last couple of months, during the small amount of spare time we’ve had during our ongoing iPhone game developments, we’ve been designing this site so that we can share our thoughts and findings in iPhone development with you.

So, what have we been up to over the last few months? Well, as many of you know, in November last year we released Quick Draw, one of the first truly multiplayer games available for the iPhone and iPod Touch platforms which makes the most of the mobile and wireless connectivity we all share. There was a lot of hype about Quick Draw, with some highly respected blogs showing excited interest pre-release. After a few successful months in the App Store, reaching Top 10 lists for Word Game Apps, Quick draw is still fighting strong, although being slightly swamped by the sheer number of applications which are flooding the App Store.

Ever since Quick Draw’s release we have been working on the next big Application from Swipe Interactive. We will post more information on our next App soon, as it is still in the development stages, but I can say that it will be as exciting as Quick Draw, and will certainly be even more popular.

So, why have we decided to make our thoughts and ideas available to you by means of this blog? Well, as I’m sure you’re aware, there are over 15,000 applications in the App Store now, which means there must be tens of thousands of Developers out there. Many of these developers will know what they’re doing with regards to iPhone development now, and for whom we hope we can provide some extra hints and advice; there will be many others, however, who are in the same situation as we were in less than 6 months ago, and to whom we would like to give help and inspiration to through means of this blog. So whether you’re a seasoned developer or an Objective C newbie please check back soon, as we’ll soon be sharing the processes we’re going through in our development, and even offering up free code snippets when we discover something of potential use in others’ applications.

Thanks for reading, we hope you’ll be back soon!
